Diabetes Health Care |
Many of us today live in a noisy, polluted city environment, becoming
stressed as we rush from one task to another in our busy lives. In
fact, lifestyles have a major effect on health and beauty
involving us in different health risks.
Diabetes is one of the risks. In type 1 diabetes cases people inherit
risk factors from both parents. Its triggers can be related to cold
climates and viruses. Eating too much fat, too little carbohydrate and
fiber, getting too little exercise cause type 2 diabetes. Diabetes
health care should include exercising, making and eating the foods on
your meal plan, taking the medicine or injecting insulin, checking your
blood sugar (glucose) levels and keeping track of the results.
The major goal in diabetes treatment is to minimize any elevation of
blood sugar without causing abnormally low levels of blood
sugar. Type 1 diabetes is treated with insulin, exercise, and a
diabetic diet. Type 2 diabetes is treated first with weight reduction,
a diabetic diet, and exercise. When these measures fail to control the
elevated blood sugars, oral medications are used. If oral medications
are still insufficient, treatment with insulin is considered.
Diabetes self treatment consists of keeping to a healthy diet high in
fiber, low in saturated fat, and low in concentrated sweets, regular
exercising in any form (as little as 20 minutes of walking three times
a week), moderating or eliminating consumption of alcohol (try to have
no more than seven alcoholic drinks in a week and never more than two
or three in an evening), quitting smoking that damages blood vessels
and contributes to heart disease, stroke, and poor circulation in the
limbs, checking blood sugar levels before meals and at bedtime,
recording the results.
Among diabetes medical supplies you can find out diabetic test strips,
lancets, socks, shoes, glucose monitors and ostomy supplies referring
to a type of surgery that is necessary when a person has lost the
normal function of the bladder or bowel due to birth defects, disease,
injury or other disorders.
