Purpose:
Increase awareness of issues pertinent to the minority population amongst medical professionals and the community of Winston-Salem.
Vision:
To limit health disparities in the minority population of Winston-Salem and increase minority recruitment, admissions and retention at Wake Forest University School of Medicine
Mission: Establish and maintain SNMA-MAPS chapters at Wake Forest University , Winston-Salem State University and Salem College.
Provide incentives for members and minority health care professionals to become more active in SNMA-sponsored activities.
Create and maintain community outreach programs that can be continued year after year
Increase institutional cultural awareness and sensitivity by implementing workshops, seminars, and topics into the medical curriculum
